What are the fastest, easiest, and best ways to raise your vibration? This is one of the hottest topics of discussion among spiritual seekers today. There seem to be a wide variety of opinions, many of which center around diet, exercise, lifestyle, and spiritual practices. While eating your leafy greens can improve your overall health, make the body stronger and run more efficiently, and ultimately raise your vibration, there are a few caveats to these commonly suggested tools for raising your vibe higher.

When we first enter our spiritual awakening process, we often rapidly become aware of the habits of our past that are not supporting our growth. Changing diet, drinking more water, reducing the chemicals we consume, starting a meditation practice, and doing yoga are all great ways to raise your vibration during the initial phases of awakening, and there is nothing wrong with these practices. The problem, though, is that we become accustomed to being able to make relatively small external behavioral or routine changes in our lives, and see quick results in our overall vibration during this phase of our journey. This looks like our mood improving, having synchronicities day in and day out, downloading all sorts of information, opening the third eye and the intuition, and many other positive effects that come with spiritual growth.

Unfortunately, there is a limit to this method. We can get ourselves into a slightly higher bandwidth with some basic foundational practices such as these I’ve mentioned, but there comes a time when we stall out and begin to fear that our growth has reached a ceiling. Why does this occur, though?

There are two methods for raising your vibration, and both are important. Picture yourself in a hot air balloon. We want the balloon to go up as high as it can go, so we begin by filling the balloon with hot air. The balloon starts to inflate and eventually it rises up off of the ground. It grows larger and larger until it is finally able to lift the basket off the ground as well. We have lift off! This phase represents the beginning of our awakening, and the first method of raising our vibration. Changing our habits, activities, and actions to fuel our growth will definitely get us off the ground. We go up a little ways, and suddenly we realize that we have stopped climbing. No matter how much hot air we blast into the balloon, we stay at a steady altitude just a few feet off of the ground and climb no higher. We start to panic and wonder what we are doing wrong.

This brings us to the second method of raising our vibration. We look down and realize that the basket is full of sand bags and tied to the ground with dozens of ropes. No wonder we can’t go any higher! The sandbags and ropes are anchors that have been there all along and we must remove them from the balloon itself before it can continue its ascent. These represent the dense energies that we carry in our being that require healing to remove. This process is a requirement if we want to move beyond the initial phases of spiritual awakening and raise our vibration beyond a certain threshold. We can get a few feet off the ground by eating our kale, but to really take off, we have to do the difficult inner work to unload everything dense that is anchoring us to the ground.

So what are these things? The most dense energies in our field stem primarily from trauma and repressed emotions, so these are the heaviest bags to tackle. Doing trauma healing has a significantly more profound affect on raising our consciousness and vibration than any external life shifts can achieve in the long term. Dense energies can also come from ancestral wounds that need to be healed, cords and energies from other individuals that are keeping us in a lower density, and even past life wounds that may need to be addressed. This is why healing is so integral to spiritual growth. We can only go so far on our path without addressing the internal energies that anchor us down.

Both methods of raising your vibration are critical to spiritual growth. We need both the external practices to raise us up and the deep internal healing practices to release everything anchoring us down to truly take off. Unfortunately, many individuals reach the ceiling in their growth without realizing that it is trauma and other dense energies that are holding them back, and they search for more external or “quick fix” ways to raise their vibration. Others may be aware of difficult healing work that they need to do, but are not ready or are unwilling to do this work for themselves without realizing that it holds to key to their highest path forward. We go out and buy new crystals, take supplements that claim to raise your vibration, eat less or fast, take psychoactive drugs, double up on the yoga, and any number of other things outside of ourselves in an attempt to keep growing. This eventually leads to exhaustion, practices that become extreme instead of balanced, leave the individual energetically vulnerable, and can often lead to a big crash. It would be like blasting your balloon with hot air to such an extreme in an effort to avoid unloading the sandbags that it catches on fire. This is a spiritual burnout that many fall victim to when they begin seeking  shortcuts in their spiritual growth, but this can easily be avoided with the understanding that inner work is the most productive path forward.

Unfortunately, no amount of kale in the world will ever match the effects of doing deep healing work on oneself when it comes to raising your vibration in a steady and permanent way. It is important to continue to maintain lifestyle changes that are healthy for us and fill our balloon so to speak, but if you are feeling as if your vibration has topped out, or that your growth has become stagnant, perhaps it’s time to look within at what dense energies you are ready to unload.
